Next Generation of Public Servants

Working in partnership with federal agencies, HSF Institute has designed a human capital strategy that taps Latino collegiate talent. By establishing a pathway for Latino college students who are academically accomplished in the disciplines needed to serve agency missions, HSF Institute addresses government's current and future human capital needs through the Next Generation of Public Servants model.

The program:

  • Provides scholarships of $3,000 to students enrolled in community colleges who plan to transfer to four-year institutions, as well as students already enrolled in four-year institutions.
  • Targets students who have completed 24 college credits seeking baccalaureate degrees in disciplines that support the missions of partnering federal agencies.

Scholarship opportunities are currently available.

Eligible academic majors are:

  • Engineering, including Biomedical, Chemical, Civil, Computer, Electrical, Environmental, Industrial, Material, Mechanical, Metallurgical, Nuclear, and Petroleum
  • Sciences, including Biological Sciences, Computer Science and Information Technology, Geology, Math, Microbiology, and Physics
  • Social Sciences, including Economics, Organizational Psychology, Political Science, and Sociology
  • Business, including Accounting, Finance, Management, and Business Administration
